Refereeing

Gollero referees: how matches are refereed and recorded live on the platform.

No referees, no competition. On Gollero, the referee runs the match on the pitch and the competition organisers record what they call.

The referee’s role on the platform

The referee runs the match on the pitch. Events — goals, cards and substitutions — are recorded by the competition organisers (whoever created it, the managers they appointed, or the Gollero team), based on what the referee calls. Nobody playing for one of the teams records their own match.

In a competition without managers, the owner of one of the teams can record the match, but the result only counts once the owner of the other team confirms it.

At the end of the match, the match sheet is closed with the score and the recorded events. That sheet feeds the log and the player stats. Correcting a closed match requires a reason, which stays on the sheet, and both teams are notified.

There are no referee accounts on the platform yet, and no appointments per match: each competition’s organisers choose the referee, outside Gollero.

Refereeing questions

Who can referee a competition on Gollero?
Whoever the competition organiser appoints. Gollero does not issue accreditation or make appointments.
Can a result be corrected after the match?
Yes. The competition organisers can correct the sheet of a finished match, always with a written reason; both teams are notified and the log is recalculated from the corrected data.
What if the match has no referee?
The match can still be played and recorded on the platform, but it is up to the competition rules to decide whether it counts towards the log.
Are you a referee?
Speak to the organiser of the competition in your area. If they make you a competition manager, you record the matches you referee on the platform.
